Marketing Meat Direct to Consumers Part 1

Kicking off the webinar series will be Alex Tigue with Alabama Cooperative Extension, he has served in many regions across the state of Alabama through the extension service and has gained a wealth of experience in the meat industry by raising cattle of his own and working in a meat processing plant. Alex is pursuing a Ph.D. at Auburn University and has served our industry from pasture to plate. Listen in as Alex discusses "Creating the Product Consumers Want."

Marketing Meat Direct to Consumers Part 2

Dr. Jason Sawyer is an Associate Professor of Meat Science in the Department of Animal Sciences at Auburn University. He arrived at Auburn from Texas where he was previously an Associate Professor at Tarleton State University. In Texas he guided the meat laboratory operations, meat judging team, and instructed animal science students on meat science and processing techniques. Prior to joining the academy, Dr. Sawyer was a Senior Food Technologist at Tyson Foods, Inc. Listen in as he discusses "The Processing Process."

Marketing Meat Direct to Consumers Part 3

To close out this three-part series, we will explore the road it takes to "Getting Your Product to Market...and Getting Paid for It" as we look into where to sell your product, how to advertise, how to price and introduce you to Alabama's new state branding program, Sweet Grown Alabama. We are excited to have Ellie Watson from the Department of Ag and Sweet Grown Alabama program with us to lead the discussion and answer your questions.

ACA HOSTS bama beef directory, Connecting Consumers With Producers

In response to a growing number of people searching for local and online meat sales, the Alabama Cattlemen's Association (ACA) is creating a digital platform to directly connect consumers looking to purchase beef with those who produce it. The new portal will be available to the public this summer and will allow beef producers to share their contact information, including a website and social media platforms. The listing is free to Alabama beef producers and will be marketed to consumers searching for direct sale and online beef sources.

ACA is accepting submissions to be included in the directory. Alabama beef producers looking to add their operation to the listing can do so by completing the form below.

Not a fan of online forms, or do you have questions? Give us a call during normal business hours at (334) 265-1867.
