Cattlemen’s BEEF 201 is a checkoff-funded program available to cattlemen who are interested in learning more about the "plate" side of the "Pasture to Plate" story. The program takes place at the Stanley P. Wilson Beef Teaching Unit and Lambert-Powell Meats Lab located on Shug Jordan Drive near the Auburn University campus. Some features of the program include live animal evaluation, slaughter process, carcass evaluation and fabrication.
Schedule of Events
11:30am – Optional Lunch
12:00pm – Tour Beef Unit
12:30pm - Live Animal Evaluation clinic to evaluate steer feeder grades and breeding heifers with EPD scenarios
2:00pm - Tour Meat lab and participate on carcass evaluation and view the fabrication process
4:00pm - Adjourn
